32nd ANNUAL ZELLEWOOD SWEET CORN FESTIVAL

EACH YEAR I GO TO THIS EVENT, IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE FESTIVALS.  THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO HERE,  IT'S FAMILY ORIENTED,  EVERYONE FROM TODDLERS TO SENIORS HAVE A GREAT TIME.  THIS YEAR THE 3 DAY EVENT WAS HELD OVER MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND,

FRIDAY WAS FAMILY DAY.  ENTERTAINMENT FEATURED 'THIRD DAY', A WELL KNOWN CHRISTIAN GROUP, IT WAS A RECORD CROWD !  OF COURSE EVERYONE LOVES TO WATCH "BIG BERTHA" COOK THAT DELICIOUS SWEET CORN. 1650 EARS OF CORN EVERY 9 MINUTES IN 350 GAL. OF WATER.  WOW !

ON SUNDAY EDGAR WINTER, MARK FARMER (formally of grand funk railroad).  DIABLO CANYON, and a JIMMY BUFFET TRIBUTE by the CARIBBEAN CHILLERS WERE A HIT.

SATURDAY WAS THE DAY I CHOSE TO GO.  YOU SEE I AM A COUNTRY MUSIC LOVER, AND THIS WAS THE BEST LINEUP OF STARS IN THE AREA !  BAR NONE !  JIM VAN FLEET (fox 35 news morning weather man) AND HIS BAND WERE A BIG HIT.   HE SIGNED AUTOGRAPHS FOR HOURS, CENTRAL FLORIDA LOVES HIM !  NEXT  MARTY RAYBON (of Shenandoah) ,  then came THE CORN EATING CONTEST. 19 CONTESTANTS TRIED FOR THIS AND 'MICHAEL BRICE'  TOOK THE TROPHY.

'COWBOY CRUSH' WERE ON NEXT, THESE FIVE GIRLS CAN REALLY PUT ON A SHOW !  THIS IS THEIR 2nd YEAR HERE AND THE CROWD LOVES THEM. THEIR NEW SONG 'NOBODY EVER DIED OF A BROKEN HEART' SHOWS OFF THEIR PERFECT HARMONIES. BUT SEEING THEM 'LIVE' IS AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT!!  JOANN KING OF OCALA GOT A PICTURE WITH THEM AT THE AUTOGRAPH TENT.  BIG RED OF OCALA'S 93.7 K-COUNTRY WAS THERE INTRODUCING THE ACTS.

AARON TIPPIN ALWAYS PUTS A BIKE TOGETHER ON STAGE , AS PART OF HIS SHOWS, AND DONATES IT TO TOYS FOR TOTS.  HE HAS DONATED OVER 500 BIKES.  THIS SHOW HE ANNOUNCED THAT SOMEONE HAD WROTE TO THANK HIM BUT ALSO SAID THAT ALL THE BIKES WERE 'BOYS' BIKES!!   " WELL, FROM NOW ON "HE SAID, "I'LL DO A GIRLS BIKE ALSO"  AND HE DID!  THE CROWD REALLY GETS GOING WITH THIS PERFORMER.

THE HOURS OF THE FESTIVAL WERE CHANGED TO A LITTLE LATER THIS YEAR.  BY THE TIME ANDY GRIGGS CAME ON STAGE, THE SUN HAD SET AND IT HAD COOLED DOWN.. ANDY IS ALWAYS A CROWD PLEASER.

BUT THERE IS MUCH MORE TO THE FESTIVAL THEN ENTERTAINMENT.  THE LARGEST CRAFT SHOW IN THE SOUTHEAST,  TRACTOR AND MOTORCYCLE SHOW,  RIDES,  GAMES,  FOOD,  CONTESTS AND ALL THE SWEET ZELLWOOD CORN YOU CAN EAT ALL DAY LONG !!!

TRACY & CHEYENNE MILLS, OF WILLISTON, GOT SOME HATS.

AT THE 'ARTS BY DESIGN' TENT, BRANDON GETS HIS PICTURE DRAWN BY MATTHEW.

CLAIR & GAGE LOOK AT 'PALM TREE AMERICA' ART.

'LITTLE MAN' OF OCALA GOT HIM A BIG OLE 'SHAVE ICE' TO COOL OFF.
