Delivering Dreams is a nonprofit wish granting organization started in Ocala, FL for adults suffering from cancer, terminal illness, personal loss or tragedy. Chris Young entertained at their “kick off” event and First Annual Dream Concert held at The Bull Pen Country Saloon in Ocala on November 9, 8:00 p.m.

First, a little about the person that started the organization,  Ellen Huddleston is an OR nurse at Monroe Regional Hospital in Ocala, Florida, and works with cancer patients and the terminally ill every day of her life." There's nothing I can do for them," said Ellen, "just be a shoulder, offer them encouragement, and that’s about it!' She wanted to do more. When a friend from her church developed colon cancer, Ellen looked for an adult wish granting, organization for her friend. There were 100's of children’s organizations, but for adults none!   Ellen thought,

There's a need for something like this, and so, Delivering Dreams was born.  It took time and work, but in April of this year, ‘07 Delivering Dreams was founded.  Right now it's local, but Ellen’s dream is to have it go nationwide.

Two Dream candidates were announced at the benefit Chris Young Concert, the First one, Leo, a 36 yr old husband and father of 2 boys, a Deacon at the First Baptist Church, Ocala. He served 18 1/2 years active duty in the Army. He is fighting for his life with colon cancer. His dream is to go to NYC and see Emeril.  "Dreams" has arranged for that trip, as soon as Leo's health permits. Leo and his wife will be VIP's on Emeril's show.

Second is Carol Myers, a 65 yr old Native American, with lung, heart and kidney diseases, a patient of Hospice who can only move around in her electric wheelchair. Her dream was to attend church services at Shores Baptist Worship Center, where she is a member.

'Dreams' was blessed with an offer fm Eagle Transport of Marion & Lake Co. to transport Carol and her wheelchair to Sunday services.  "It takes a lot of people working together to make even one dream come true."

This concert was an example, Ellen, tried for almost a year to schedule a benefit concert with RCA recording artist, and Nashville Star winner 2 years ago, Chris Young.  Finally the schedules worked out and with the sponsors, donations the volunteers, were able to have a successful fundraiser.  A silent auction, lots of raffle items, food and a 1/2 hour acoustic concert given by Chris Young, for the VIP party prior to the main concert, made it very special.   The Bull Pen Country Saloon, on Jacksonville road, was the perfect place for the event.  Everything went on schedule. Chris Young and his band played a terrific concert that was enjoyed by all.   He is on his way to being an even bigger star then he is.......and folks, he’s just 22!
